Axis Fleet Management has announced a significant investment with the launch of a new Mobile Maintenance division to service its UK-wide customer base. The unit will be headed up by the newly recruited Ian Ashman, a highly experienced professional with nearly 15 years’ experience with a leading independent mobile fleet maintenance provider.
The new division will provide nationwide on-site maintenance and repair services, improving customers trailer availability and up-time. Axis has invested in the latest diagnostic equipment and the initial mobile maintenance vehicles are under development, with the first due to be operational within six weeks. The skilled engineers, currently being recruited for the new unit, will use the latest technology to ensure compliance is at the forefront of the service offering.
As head of the new division, Ian Ashman’s role will be focused on coordinating operations to deliver an industry leading service to Axis customers throughout the UK.
Axis Managing Director Leigh Goodland said: “The new mobile maintenance division marks another positive step forward in being the UK’s market leading customer-focused fleet management company. The significant investment in an in-house maintenance and repair service will give us direct control in ensuring our customers enjoy consistently high standards of service across the country.
“I’m delighted to welcome Ian Ashman to head up the new unit. He has had a decade and a half of experience in mobile vehicle maintenance with a particularly strong focus on trailer as well as tractor servicing. This knowledge and understanding will benefit our customers by helping reduce down time and ensuring their operations remain fully compliant.”
